Visible light-induced photopolymerization of Deep Eutectic Monomers, based on methacrylic acid and tetrabutylammonium salts with different anion structures

Deep Eutectic Monomers were prepared by dissolution of selected tetrabutylammonium salts serving as hydrogen bond acceptors (HBA) in methacrylic acid (MAA) acting both donor (HBD) and vinyl monomer. In this study, we systematically investigate the influence chloride, nitrate, hydrogensulphate fluoroborate anions on properties DEMs course radical photopolymerization. By Combining FTIR, 1H 13C NMR spectroscopy found that degree coordination MAA follows order: Cl− > NO3– HSO4− ≫ BF4−. Moreover, studies indicated strength bonds between HBD HBA is lower than dimers. Real-time FT-IR photopolymerization indicate mixtures formed from show significant initial rate comparison with other investigated DEMs, which polymerize similar rates.
